Abstract

The Functional-Mockup Interface has improved simulation technology for the last decade by simplifying how to build system simulations from the most diverse simulation components. Today, more than 150 simulation tools support FMI technology. Since the release of FMI 2.0 in 2014, new simulation applications raise new improvement requests for FMI. Especially the simulation of electronic control units and complex sensors requires capabilities beyond the ODE-focused FMI 1.0 and 2.0. Improvements to the stability and efficiency of simulations are also under way. This keynote runs briefly through the list of features the FMI project plans to introduce in FMI 3.0, and why.
